Founded in 1991, with its headquarters in Egypt, Al Borg Laboratories is the first medical-laboratory company in the Middle East to implement an efficient hub-and-spoke business model, allowing it quickly to become the largest privately owned laboratory group in the region. Since inception in 1991 Al Borg Laboratories have been recognized as the leader in Laboratory services. We have served over 17 million patients and carried out 50 million laboratory tests through our extended network of branches all over Egypt. 
We provide a broad menu of 2000 routine and specialized tests that help predict, diagnose and monitor disease. These tests range from basic tests, such as glucose testing for diabetes, to the more complex molecular tests for hepatitis by (PCR) and on to the new highly specific tests for disputed paternity by (DNA). 
We are staffed with over 1400 employees, including 140 doctors utilizing state-of-the-art FDA certified automated equipment and reagents. No time or effort has been spared in the training process of all our personnel. Al Borg Continuous Education & Training Center which is located in the heart of Cairo is equipped with top-of-the-line audio visual equipment where medical and managerial training is custom-made and is provided in the form of structured lectures, role-play, interactive sessions, workshops and seminars. All of Al Borg employees annually receive and/or deliver training. 
In striving to meet our goal as the premier regional provider of Laboratory services, Al Borg is committed to implementing a quality system that allows us to provide consistent, high-quality and cost effective services, with an emphasis on excellence through continuous improvement. Bar coding & Bidirectional interfacing was introduced in 2003 which prevents human error when placing patient samples in equipment or clerical errors when printing patient results. Full electronic Autovalidation of results was developed in 2007 to validate quality implementation and verify each patient’s results.     
On the 18th of March 2010 the Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment“SWEDAC” announced that Al Borg laboratories are the first internationally accredited medical lab in Egypt (Clinical Chemistry at the Central lab in Cairo) . 

Molecular Biology Lab

The Molecular Biology Lab was established in 2004, and is market leader in the Hepatitis and Influenza testing by PCR technique certified by the Egyptian Ministry of Health. With the world’s highest hepatitis penetration in Egypt, the division contributes c.14% of the Group’s revenues.

Medical Genetics Center

The Medical Genetics Center was co-founded by Dr. Ezzat Al Sobky in 2000, the only American Board Certified geneticist operating in Egypt. MGC is Egypt’s leading genetics testing facility conducting over 10,000 tests per year. The Company offers a broad range of genetic based testing with its main focus and capabilities in Karyotyping (chromosome-based) testing through Routine Chromosomes, DNA testing and Cancer Chromosomes.


Biolab was established in 2001 with the vision of becoming the leading private medical laboratory group in Jordan that presents cutting edge medical technology by providing high end service to its patients, physicians, hospitals and referring clinical laboratories. Biolab’s 50 professionals serve their customers by offering a 700+ test menu through one centralized main laboratory and three specialty testing laboratories in Amman.
